How BeScan - Document & PDF Scanner collects, uses and protects information when you use the app.

CG Apps Dev ("we", "us", or "our") operates BeScan – Document & PDF Scanner (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

By downloading, installing, or using BeScan, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the practices described herein.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

BeScan is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or upload your personal documents or personal information to our own servers.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, phone number, postal address, or personal documents.
  • Scanned images or PDF files created using the App.
  • OCR text extracted from your documents.
  • Biometric information such as fingerprint or face data. If you enable biometric protection, authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system. BeScan never receives or stores your biometric templates.

All document scanning, OCR processing, PDF generation, PDF editing, image enhancement, QR code processing, and file management are performed locally on your device.

2. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

The App uses trusted third-party services that may collect certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Google AdMob

Google AdMob is used to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect information such as:

  • Advertising ID
  • Device identifiers
  • IP address
  • Diagnostic information
  • Approximate location inferred from your IP address
  • Other information as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

These third-party services may process information on their own servers and may share information as described in their respective privacy policies. BeScan does not send your scanned documents, PDFs, or OCR text to AdMob for advertising purposes.

Google Play Services

The App may use Google Play Services for essential platform functionality, compatibility, and certain application features.

Document scanning, OCR processing, and PDF generation are performed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Google or our servers.

3. Permissions Used

The App requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features.

Camera

Required to capture images for document scanning.

Photos and Videos / Media Access

BeScan uses the Android system Photo Picker or File Picker to let you select photos and files for importing. On supported Android versions, these system picker allow access only access only to the items you choose and do not require broad access to your photo or video library. Selected files are processed locally on your device.

Internet & Network Access

Required to:

  • Display advertisements through Google AdMob.
  • Access essential Google services required by the App.

Biometric Authentication (Fingerprint / Face Unlock)

Optional permission used only if you choose to protect PDFs or folders using biometric authentication.

Authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system.

4. Local Processing (OCR & PDF)

BeScan performs document processing locally on your device.

This includes:

  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
  • PDF creation
  • PDF editing
  • Image enhancement
  • PDF compression
  • Merge PDF
  • Split PDF
  • Watermark
  • Electronic Signature (eSign)
  • QR Code generation
  • QR Code scanning

Your documents and extracted text are never uploaded to our servers for processing.

5. Data Security

Your documents remain stored on your own device unless you choose to share them.

We implement reasonable security measures within the App. However, the security of your files also depends on your device's security settings, lock screen protection, and storage security.

6. Children's Privacy

BeScan is not directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that personal information has been provided through our support channels, it will be deleted as soon as reasonably possible.

7. Your Data and Your Rights

Since your documents remain stored locally on your device:

  • You have complete control over your files.
  • You may delete documents at any time.
  • You may uninstall the App whenever you wish.

Please note that uninstalling the App may not automatically remove documents that you saved outside the App's private storage.
